Exactly, and that is why the war over music is a constant in my house... *frustrated*

most of my stuff is christian, mostly hard stuff. i do like songs from bands like Nickelback, Linkin Park, Killers, and many others, but i have to remember the message behind it and not let me start thinkin like them. but whats awesome is many christian bands have signed on secular labels and are preaching to the masses w/o the masses knowing it. as long as a band doesnt give up their beliefs, they are fine by me like Switchfoot.

You should hear Evanescence's OLD stuff, like from before Fallen. OH MY GOSH. It is so freaking amazing. I started a dance to one of the songs, and another I did cheograph a pretty complicated dance to.. but I have no ppl to set it on. *see lyric thred to see one of their old songs*
I don't think POD totally sold out, but I dont really follow them that much, I just like their music.

the only Evanesence cd i had was fallen. ill admit i havent listened to their latest one, but i did find an interview where they said they didnt want 2 be christian. but i do love their fallen cd w/ songs like "bring me To Life" (i love 12 stones also which this song features Paul McCoy of 12 Stones), and the rest i dont know the names.
anyway, i also luv Creed, but are they christian or not? i mean they claim not to be but Scott Sapp is a Preacher's son and his songwritting does reflect an acceptance of God and Heaven.

see lyrics page for the creed song that keeps me going. Creed is no longer a band because the lead singer wanted to become a known as a christian band and the members weren't going to have any of it. So after 10 years they broke up. The other band members started Alter Bridge, but Scott whatever is floating around. So yeah... that's the skinny.
I still love evanescence though.

*NEW STATEMENT* in the Dec. 2005 issue of CCM MAgazine, Emery was quoted for say," We are christians by actions. We don't mention 'Jesus' not because we are ashamed of him, but because if we do, Christians at the concert would yell and make the other non christians feel uncomfortable. They prefer to be examples over preachers. We don't want to use the name of Jesus as a marketing tool". Agree or disagree?

Its a lil of both. I agree that if you use Jesus its gonna turn off ALOT of people. They are probably reaching more people by avoiding it BUT at the same time, it seems like they are trying way hard to be more main stream.
They are probably losing christians off by NOT using it. so its really a toss up. I agree but disagree.

That's how alot of Christian though Mainstream bands are. Creed for example, though only on their last album or w/e. Even I would dare say Demon Hunter and bands like that are that way.

No matter what a band does, they will loose people and fans anyway they go. i agree but you will have the extremist traditionalists that say you have to mention Jesus. some1 told me 2nite that they saw a band who said," You may not agree with what we believe in and thats fine but know that we serve 1 God who loves us and has given us our talent. Thanks God" THATS AWESOME!!!!!
