I found a forum on another boards...about death penalty....I just wanted to see if any of us had a different opinion.
Do you agree or disagree with Capital Punishment (death penalty)?

I believe in forgivness, but some of these people, if not killed, would keep going out and killing, so we must stop them.

Its not just a Matter of the death penalty, Alot of people that DESERVE to be in jail for like 50 years get like 6 months! Rapist, child sex offenders, and such. Also the celebrities that don't get what they deserve, the Rich who don't have to pay those poor people they used. The Death penalty is nessicary to get vengience but just because someone is put to death doesn't mean you have the right t hate them for ever. Little fact, America is the only world power that STILL HAS the Death Penalty. Just a lil fact i got from my history class. so i am all for it as long as those who deserve it really do get it.

The wages of sin is death there you go. I know Alyse also previously stated something like this. And it is death, but Christ's blood has since paid for that. Scripture also says.."Those who live by the sword die by the sword." I don't remember where exactly it's found right now and don't have time to search for it, but it's there....closer to Christ's death in the book of Matthew or Luke.

true but sometimes they do not deserve the death penelty like Missionarys that are killed because they are "breaking the law" True, missionaries in this case do not deserve death, but then again missionaries are not breaking God's law, now are they? Breaking the laws of man and the laws of God are two very different matters and are seen in different veiws. If you are breaking the law because you want to follow God and it is therefore absolutely impossible to avoid breaking the law of the country and serving Christ at the same time, then I believe it to be alright. So, as you are saying, the wages of sin is indeed death, but in the missionaries case, the missionaries committed no sin against God or His word (like comitting murder) by spreading His word or whatever, so the death penalty would not apply the same to them. Also, it would also not apply to the missionaries(if they know Christ and have a personal relationship with Him) because Christ forgave them and they live a life knowing that and doing their best to serve God. Rapists and murderers and such are not so fortunate and 90 percent of the time do not think about anyone but themselves, usually living in a darkness called a life without Christ. That's my input anyway. I'll have to remember to do some more research on this subject some other time when it isn't so late and I'm not feeling so bad. There is more on this I want to learn from and I hope I'm not the only one.
