I think that we SHOULD date. Dating is what we need to do. Dating is preparation for marrage. Its HOW we date that matters. If your one of those people who date just to have a boy friend or girl friend then you don't need to date. If you have a bf or gf and cheat on them then your probably going to cheat on your husband or wife. What you do in dating is practice for what you do in marrage. So you SHOULD date because you need to find who is right for you BUT you shouldn't date if all you want is a Boy or girl friend that looks good. Another problem is that people look for mr. or mrs. right now. They date someone that looks good so they, themselves, will look good. People now adays aren't concerned about staying married thats why we have divorce. Something that should be good and holy, the most basic of all human needs is turned into a joke. Look around today and notice how we are so amazed by the fact taht some people ACTUALLY stay together! WOW! WHAT A CONCEPT! That people ACTUALLY MEAN! Till death do us part. that they REALLY DO LOVE EACHOTHER! We are bombarded with images from the media that show that its ok that if you see someone hotter then who you are with that its ok to cheat or get a devorce to go to the hotter one. Its sick but its true. I, personally, think its sick. but wow i think i'm alittle off subject. o well ats my feelings and i'm stinkin to it.

nice. i agree 100% with everything u said. youve basically told me my own concept. i would say everything u said. dating is not bad, as long as its for the rite reasons. we should not date to say "well i have a b/f or g/f so im all cool". who wants to be cool anyways? i currently have no g/f and im perfectly happy like that. i may get into a relationship later down the road, but rite now im happy just like i am. it is hard when every1 walks around, actin happy 2 have a b/f or g/f, but theres still something missing that no dating relationship can fill. God is the only 1 who can fill that emptyness inside, no boy or girl can. they might fill it by .000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000^-1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 , but God is the only one that can make us happy. when i was in a good dating relationship, God was the center of it and i was shown a lot of stuff about life and it does teach you about marrige. sure it was hard not to cheat, but i honestly never cheated and i stayed true to that 1 girl. the only difference is that girl and i broke up and by dating that can happen. its hard to think about taking that relationship and multiply it by a billion and u might come close to how marrige is. when ur married, u cant go with anyother person. i know some people preach to not marry until God sends the rite one, but i believe that if u date, and its not going to far and God is the center, than you could learn alot more about marrige and life then some1 who waits awhile. im not here to tell people how they should take this subject, but in my opinon, dating is perfectly fine as long as its for the rite reason. we might put on a mask 4 the other person, but how long will that mask be able to stay on? not long. if u date, make it for the rite reason and not the wrong. we are the ones who determine if we should date based on attitude and maturity level. thats my opinon on the subject.

My opinion? It's ok. But don't rush into it too fast for you will ruin your life and your relationship with God and friends and family. And you may have heard the story of my friend with the kid. Perfect example... So dating is OK, but don't rush ANYTHING. That's the way I look at, and that's how I am taking it SLOW.

Personally, I don't think ANYONE should date until they're old enough to be looking for the person they want to spend their life with. That's what dating is for, finding your perfect match. If you start dating at 13, what is that? Not only are you wasting your single life that God has given you to use for him, you're basically practicing for divorce. You meet someone. You fall in Love. Their friends become your friends. Their family becomes your family. Something happens. You break up. All those friendships you made with his friends and family become forgotten. And on top of that, you've spent months focusing on this one person when you could have spent it focusing on God. I'm not dissing anyone that is dating, but if you are, I hope you're doing it to find your husband or wife, and I hope that if so, you're at an age where that is approprite. Like say, I'm 15, and I say, "Hey, I wanna go look for my husband." That's just not going to go over too well with the big G-O-D. Hmmm I think I may have offended some, but it wasn't my intention. Sorry, hope you guys can see my point! <3 Kimmie

i understand where u are coming from. when we date, we do practice divorce, and thats probably a good reason why the rate is so high. but i think that God might show you something like responsibility through a dating relationship and if you dont date then you wont have the experience and chalenges u will face as a husband/wife. when ur married, you cant just drop someone like nothing, and while dating it should be the same. i understand God will show us the rite person at the rite time, but i believe that God wants us to be happy, and sometimes dating does that for us. like i said, as long as God is in the center and he would approve of ur relationship, i see no wrong with dating. but we all have our own opinons and so im not goin 2 criticize you for ur opinon. i hate when that happens to me anyway. thanks 4 the post.

I think that Christian teens should court. Courting is where the couple hang out at home with the parents. There is so much pressure placed on students today. Everything in society is very provocative. So everyone thinks that physical intimacy is automatically part of the dating process. If you are at home in the living room, with full knowledge that your parents are either in the room with you, or they could walk in at any minute, the pressure goes away. I do agree with the divorce practice idea. I believe it is ok to go somewhere with a group, but going alone just ramps up the pressure. Anyway thats my take. Save yourself so you can give yourself totally to the one God picks!

I agree. God should always be the center focus. If you both have God as your number one and are constantly checking yourselves to make sure you're right with Him, then there are less chances of things not working out. Breakups, are kind of like practicing divorce. But then again, I don't know. I would love to just date one guy and then spend the rest of my life with him and have my own happily ever after. I know several teens that would. However, things aren't that easy. I think we should wait to date as well, but as far as marriage goes and preperation for "the one," how are we going to know what to do after marriage if something doesn't turn out the way we planned? We aren't going to know how to handle the issue...mostly because we have never experienced those types of arguments and such. I don't believe dating is itself bad, I believe it just depends on the maturity level and if that person has a sense of what's right and wrong. If you have a problem with self control, or have a perverted mind, or even have a tendency to "follow the crowd" a little more than the average person, then you probably shouldn't date at all until you get back on track. Dating is a gift itself from God. Through it, we learn from our past mistakes...and believe it or not, it's a way our hearts are tested to see if we really do love Christ with our very being. Think about it. Just about everyone in the world is looking for love. Everyone needs someone. For Satan, there's no better field to play in. I think that Christian teens should court. Courting is where the couple hang out at home with the parents. There is so much pressure placed on students today. Everything in society is very provocative. Save yourself so you can give yourself totally to the one God picks! Agreed. lol. And I know one thing for sure...my kids are so not going to date until they are like 17 or 18--old enough to know better.

courting? sounds like a plan 2 me. sorta. i mean u cant always have parents at home, but id might hang around friends who i know will keep me in check. rents would be better, but if no rents around, then maybe friends could be another good alternative.

Ok well. in my oppinion. I'm gonna date until I'm good and Ready!!!! I mean, i know a LOT of people want a bf/gf right now, and sometimes people want a bf/gf to ease the pain of something, or to fill an empty space, and that's where I say No Sir! You shouldn't date until you're Ready to make a Commitment... if you date, and unwilling to make a commitment for that person, you're not only waisting their time, you're waisting yours. i dunnoo... dating is kinda a whole heartedly thing... you have to be willing to put your whole heart into that relationship... and that can be good.. but it can also be very bad. if you know what i'm saying say so... lol
